Discover Kerala with Experts — Your Journey, Our Expertise
Troper Tours is a well known Kerala tour operator and travel agent. We create bespoke holidays with clear pricing, local knowledge and seamless door-to-door logistics. From backwater stays and hill stations to wildlife and cultural experiences, we shape your journey around you.
We're not your typical tour operator in Kerala
We are a team of seven in Thiruvananthapuram, not a booking desk. The person who designs your itinerary is the person who answers your messages, and the driver assigned on day one stays with you until you fly home.
Whether that means a night moored on the Alleppey backwaters, slow mornings in the tea gardens above Munnar, the first boat out at Periyar, or a Kathakali evening in Fort Kochi — the route is built around what you actually want to see, not around what fits a fixed departure.
Trips run from three to seventeen days and start at ₹9,999 per person. Every one includes hotels with breakfast, a private air-conditioned car with driver for the whole route, all transfers, and one night on an Alleppey houseboat with meals.
And if your list is too long for your dates, we will say so before you pay rather than after. That is usually the most useful thing an operator can tell you.

Tamil Nadu, On Its Own or Added to Kerala
Temple towns, hill stations and the Chettinad mansions, reached overland from Kerala on a single inter-state permit. Tamil Nadu runs perfectly well as a standalone trip, but most of our guests travelling long-haul attach it to a Kerala route rather than choosing between the two. Inclusions are the same as our Kerala itineraries — hotels with breakfast, a private air-conditioned car with driver for the whole route, all transfers and the houseboat night where the route passes through the backwaters.
| Itinerary | Length | Starting from |
|---|---|---|
| Hill Stations of Tamil Nadu | 5 Days / 4 Nights | ₹12,999 / person |
| Classic Tamil Nadu Temple Trail | 6 Days / 5 Nights | ₹14,999 / person |
| Spiritual South India Tour | 7 Days / 6 Nights | ₹16,999 / person |
| Itinerary | Length | Starting from |
|---|---|---|
| Temples to Backwaters Journey | 9 Days / 8 Nights | ₹25,999 / person |
| Sacred South India | 10 Days / 9 Nights | ₹28,999 / person |
| Kerala & Tamil Nadu Highlights | 12 Days / 11 Nights | ₹37,999 / person |
| Kerala & Tamil Nadu Family Tour | 14 Days / 13 Nights | ₹45,999 / person |
| Temple Trails & Tropical Retreats | 17 Days / 16 Nights | ₹74,999 / person |
What travels differently in Tamil Nadu
- Most temples close in the afternoon. Typically around 12:30pm until 4pm. A morning arrival at Madurai or Rameswaram sees the temple open; a lunchtime arrival sees the gate. We build the driving around it.
- Footwear comes off at every temple, often well before the entrance, and stone courtyards get hot by midday. Socks are worth carrying. Some inner sanctums are open to Hindu worshippers only, though the outer precincts — which is where the architecture is — are open to everyone.
- The drives are longer and flatter than Kerala's. No ghat roads, but more distance: Madurai to Rameswaram runs about three and a half hours. It is easier travelling than the hills, just less scenic through the window.
- Inter-state permits are included in every combined quote, so crossing from Kerala adds paperwork on our side and nothing on yours.
Not sure how to split the two? As a rough guide, twelve days is the shortest that gives both states room to breathe, and Kerala usually comes first — the hills and backwaters set a slower pace before the temple towns. Tell us your dates and we will propose the division. You can browse the full range on our Tamil Nadu tour packages page, or estimate a combined trip with the South India trip cost calculator.

EXCELLENT Based on 214 reviews Posted on Google Nisar AkhtarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was great support during our trip to kerala – Pradeep We also had a fabulous experience with Trooper Tours. We were especially impressed how quickly the team addressed our questions and minor modifications we made during our visit. Once the journey started, we never felt abandoned. They planned things in a very organised way, and especially our driver was reliable and supportive throughout the journey. We liked the themes that helped us maximize our time vs a static sightseeing plan. Troper Tours had the level of one-on-one service that cuts out a lot of the hassle with traveling. We will not hesitate to recommend Union Tours and Travels to anyone who is planning for a Kerala holiday & looking for a reliable local travel company.Posted on Google TCG GlobeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was an important road trip that lasted four days from Chennai to Courtallam and nearby regions, is probably a fresh departure from the usual Tamilnadu sight seeing paths. We were more interested in the waterfalls, particularly Five Falls and the less busy Old Courtallam Falls. You got to see the Chitra Sabha and Thirukutralanathar Temple, then had some time with all beautiful places there around Papanasam & Manimuthar. Each day was a different experience combining waterfalls, temples, Western Ghats scenery and local food. The itinerary makes sure that you are not too time bound in the places so you can explore without running around. Transportation and arrangements were seamless through out as our driver was cooperative and on schedule. If you are looking for a lesser known side of Tamil Nadu tour package wherein you can enjoy nature, culture and waterfalls then Courtallam should be definitely on your bucket list. i would suggest Troper Tours from my experiencePosted on Google MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Best travel companyPosted on Google Prashanth Kumar 01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We dedicated seven days to wildlife and birding in Kerala, and we found it extremely satisfying. That was a real treat with early birding and stunning forest trails, and even the scenery in Munnar is so entirely different, from tea plantations to highland birds. Periyar wildlife, spice plantation in Thekkady & cayak through the backwaters of Alleppey were other stories. The different habitats meant that each day was a little bit different. The itinerary was never rushed, allowing ample time to see, capture and absorb each place rather than go rushing from sight to sight. All the arrangements were seamless throughout, with local guides being prompt and well-informed, along with driver. For those birdwatchers, wildlife buffs and photographers, and lovers of Kerala nature this is a most enriching way to enjoy the real beauty of the state.Posted on Google Dayesh AminTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We travelled from the Netherlands to Kerala with our family and had a wonderful experience with Troper Tours. What we enjoyed most was how easy everything felt once we arrived. The route was well balanced between nature, local experiences, and time to simply enjoy being together as a family.Posted on Google Dayesh AminTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Will suggest themPosted on Google BurgerkinghelmetTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very good tour operator in kerala. If u are looking for a reliable local tour operatorPosted on Google Anders LokenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Trooper Tours organized a very nice 12-day trip through Tamil Nadu for oss. Together we made a schedule which fitted perfectly, visiting Chennai, Poducherry, Thanjavur and Mahabalipuram, with other stops on the way. We had a very nice driver, Vijay, plus various guides. Tamil Nadu is great, and we visited a lot of nice temples and other nice places. We are very happy to have chosen to do this trip with help, as we probably wouldn’t have gotten anywhere if we attended to drive yourselves…

Booking With Troper Tours — Common Questions
Questions about the company and the booking process. For questions about Kerala itself — best time to travel, how many days you need, visas — see our Kerala tour packages guide.
How far in advance should I book a Kerala holiday?
Six to eight weeks is comfortable for most of the year. For travel between 20 December and 5 January, book eight to ten weeks ahead — Munnar and Alleppey sell out and walk-up rates roughly double. Monsoon travel between June and August can often be arranged with two or three weeks' notice.
If your dates are already fixed and close, tell us anyway. We will say honestly whether we can still get you the hotels worth having, rather than quoting you whatever is left. Our guide to the best time to visit Kerala covers how rates and availability move through the year.
Do you arrange flights?
No. We are a ground operator, so we handle everything from your arrival at the airport to your departure — hotels, transport, houseboat, transfers and guiding. Flights you book yourself, which usually works out cheaper than buying them inside a package.
One piece of advice worth having before you book: fly into Kochi and out of Trivandrum on an open-jaw ticket. Kerala's highlights run north to south, so a return from Kochi forces a five-hour backtrack up the coast on your final day. Most airlines price the open-jaw within a few pounds of a standard return. We explain what happens when you land in a separate guide.
How do payments work?
A part-payment confirms your booking and the balance is due before or on arrival, as agreed in writing. We accept cards, UPI and bank transfer through secure gateways. Every booking comes with a proper invoice under GSTIN 32AAJCT3939R1ZM and written confirmation of exactly what is included.
All quotes and invoices are issued in Indian Rupees. Your bank or card provider applies their own exchange rate at the time of payment. Cancellation terms are published in full in our cancellation and refund policy — read them before you pay, and ask us anything that is unclear.
Can I speak to someone before I pay anything?
Yes, and we would prefer it. Call +91 82813 98658 or message us on WhatsApp between 10:00 and 19:00 IST, Monday to Saturday. Anitha usually replies within thirty minutes during office hours. If you would rather speak to the person who will actually plan your trip, say so and we will put you through.
There is no deposit required to receive an itinerary, and no obligation after you have one. You can also send us your dates and we will come back to you.
What happens if something goes wrong while I am travelling?
You call us. Our guest line runs around the clock while you are in India, not just during office hours. Sreekumar handles on-the-ground changes — a hotel that disappoints, a road closed by weather, a flight that shifts. Prasannakumar's direct number is printed on your booking confirmation, and he is the director, not a call centre.
Because your driver stays with you for the whole route rather than changing at each city, there is always someone with you who already knows your itinerary. You can meet the team who will be on the other end of that call.
Are you a registered company?
Yes. Troper Tours (OPC) Pvt Ltd, incorporated in Kerala in 2022 under CIN U55101KL2022OPC075625, registered for GST under 32AAJCT3939R1ZM, with an office at Raj Tower, Kowdiar, Thiruvananthapuram 695003. Both identifiers are publicly verifiable.
Our director, Prasannakumar S, holds Kerala Tourism State Level Guide accreditation KT/SLG/2019/27, which you can check on the Kerala Tourism guide portal. You can also read verified traveller reviews on Trustpilot and see our guest photo reviews.
Is the driver also a guide?
No, and this is worth understanding before you compare quotes. In Kerala the car comes with a driver-cum-escort who handles routes, timings and recommendations. Licensed guides at heritage sites such as Fort Kochi or Padmanabhapuram Palace are engaged separately, per site.
If another operator's quote says "guide included," ask which specific sites it covers. Where you want a licensed guide, we will arrange one and show it as a separate line. We set out the full difference in our guide to whether you need a guide in Kerala.
Can you build an itinerary that is not on your website?
That is most of what we do. The forty Kerala itineraries on the site are starting points, not a menu. Tell us your dates, how many of you there are, and the one thing you would be disappointed to miss, and we will build around it.
If your list is too long for your dates, we will say so before you pay rather than sending you home having seen Kerala through a car window — it is the first of the planning mistakes that ruin Kerala itineraries. To sketch a budget first, try the South India trip cost calculator.
Do you work with travel agents overseas?
Yes. We handle ground arrangements for agents and operators in the UK, Europe, Australia and the Middle East on net rates, with confidential rate sheets, named contacts and direct WhatsApp access to our operations team throughout each group's travel.
Write to salestroper@gmail.com marked for the attention of Prasannakumar S and we will send current net rates and sample itineraries. Our Tamil Nadu programmes combine with Kerala on the same permits.
What languages does your team speak?
Between us: Malayalam, Tamil, English, Hindi, German and French. Sreekumar, our concierge, speaks German, and Anitha in customer care speaks French. Every driver we assign speaks English.
For guiding in other languages, licensed multilingual guides can be arranged at specific sites on request.
