Tour itinerary
Start off your Munnar Thekkady Alleppey Holiday with a pickup from Cochin Airport / Railway Station. Ride through beautiful roads surrounded by tea plantations and halt at Valara and Cheeyappara waterfalls. On arrival in Munnar check in to your hotel. Tonight I am free to relax and explore the local markets. Overnight stay in Munnar.
After breakfast, explore sightseeing; First reach is Eravikulam National Park where you will be able to see the Nilgiri Thar (Asiatic Goat). Make halts at Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and Kundala Lake for beautiful views and photo ops. Later, make your way to the Tea Museum to delve into plantation history. Evening is free for shopping or a relaxing walk. Overnight stay in Munnar.
Transfer to lunch on the way and drive to Thekkady through cardamom hills. Check in your hotel and take a break! In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on Periyar Lake to see elephants, deer and birdlife. Later, go to a spice plantation and watch a Kathakali or Kalaripayattu troupe perform. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
Optional activities this morning include bamboo rafting or the guided nature walk in Thekkady. Post breakfast you will be driven to the houseboat docking station at Alleppey. Cruise along palm-dotted canals and through paddy fields, as you dine on freshly cooked Kerala meals. Views of the sunset over the backwaters only enhance the experience. Overnight stay on the houseboat.
Rise to the quaintness of the backwaters and take breakfast on deck. Proceed with your houseboat, cruise through small narrow canals, and reach the Lagoon (where you cook by yourself) then later move to a big lake if time permits. Stop at villages to visit coir-making and local life. Enjoy traditional Kerala cuisine on board and unwind with the slow pace at which the boat meanders through nature. Overnight stay on the houseboat.
Post breakfast check out from the houseboat & transfer to Cochin. Cross to Fort Kochi if you have time to spare and wander its colonial streets, Chinese fishing nets and historic St. Francis Church.
